CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Lehigh junior forward Lexi Martins and Lafayette freshman center Angela Ribarich were named the Lids Team Sports Patriot League Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie of the Week following their performances during the twelfth week (Jan. 25-Jan.31) of the 2015-16 season. Both Martins and Ribarich earn their second awards of the season, after both players earned the same awards back on Nov. 30.

LEXI MARTINS, LEHIGH Jr., 6-0, F, Irvington, N.Y.
Martins tallied her 15th and 16th double-doubles of the season in the Mountain Hawk’s 2-0 week with wins over crosstown rival Lafayette, 82-74, on Wednesday and then League opponent Boston University on Saturday, 72-48. The junior began the week with a career high 27 points, going 9-of-17 from the field, and hauled in 15 rebounds. She grabbed another 15 rebounds against the Terriers, netted 18 points, and also added six assists in Lehigh’s fourth-straight win. Martins averaged 22.5 points, 15 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
LIDS TEAM SPORTS PATRIOT LEAGUE ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
ANGELA RIBARICH, LAFAYETTE Fr., 6-5, C, Toronto, Ontario
Ribarich averaged 10.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last week against Lehigh and Loyola Maryland. The rookie hauled in four rebounds and netted four points, in addition to adding one assist, block, and steal against the Mountain Hawks on Wednesday. She then made her first collegiate start against the Greyhounds and posted career-highs in both points (17) and rebounds (7). Ribarich also went 5-of-6 at the line on Saturday and now has an overall mark at the charity stripe of 81.5 percent (22-of-27).
HONORABLE MENTION
KELSEY MINATO, ARMY WEST POINT Sr., 5-8, G, Huntington Beach, Calif.
Minato recorded a game-high 26 points and led the Black Knights to a 68-63 win over Bucknell on Saturday to tie the Bison at the top of the standings. The senior netted 12 of her points in the fourth quarter alone, while also adding four rebounds, three assists, and a career-high-tying two blocks. Minato has now tallied double figures in scoring in 99 straight games.
MOLLY HOURIGAN, HOLY CROSS Sr., 6-4, C, Memphis, N.Y.
Hourigan posted back-to-back double-doubles to bring her season total to five and career total to six. In the Crusaders' 59-54 win over American, the senior hauled in 10 rebounds and scored 11 points in addition to contributing three (of each) assists, blocks, and steals. Against Navy, she once again grabbed 10 rebounds to go with her career-high 18 points and also added two blocks and two steals. Hourigan hit milestones in her career last week, recording her 600th career point and 600th career rebound.
ASHANTI KENNEDY, NAVY Jr., 5-8, F, Virginia Beach, Va.
Kennedy led the Mids to a come-from-behind 50-49 victory over Holy Cross on Saturday at Alumni Hall. The junior totaled 17 points, behind an 8-of-13 clip from the field. She connected on 7-of-9 shots from the floor in the final 20 minutes of play, including a 4-for-4 effort in the fourth quarter. Kennedy also tallied two blocks, four rebounds, and three steals.
ARI BOOTH, AMERICAN Sr., 5-7, G, Pflugerville, Texas
Booth reached double figures in back-to-back games, first notching 11 points, three rebounds, and three assists in the Eagles' 59-54 loss to Holy Cross on Tuesday. She then scored a career-high 21 points in AU’s 64-56 win over Colgate on Saturday. The senior was 8-for-15 from the field and tallied 12 of her points in the fourth period alone. Booth also grabbed two rebounds and had three helpers.
